Calm + Curious

brings people, ideas and evidence together to create lasting chang across the Global South.

THE WHO BEHIND THIS

Meet Megan & Nika

Eery movement starts with a chat. Ours stretched across continents. Nika, born in Europe, living between continents. Megan, originally from South Africa, returned after decades in Europe.
Two women, different paths, united by a belief: the world thrives when every mind belongs.

Nika

We met online. A simple exchange about our work turned into much more. Nika had a dream: “I want to create Africa’s first Neurodiversity and Mental Health Summit.” Megan responded instantly: “I’ve been dreaming of raising neurodiversity awareness
across Africa.”
That conversation birthed Calm + Curious. We aren’t just planning a conference; we are crafting a much-needed platform for dialogue.
Nika, with her background in music festivals, focuses on creating calm, sensory-friendly spaces. Megan, with her expertise in behavioural psychology, champions spaces where diverse thinking thrives.
As neurodivergent founders, they know inclusion means designing spaces where differences are celebrated from the start. Calm + Curious aims to spark conversations tailored to the Global South’s realities and voices. Not borrowed solutions. What began as a single conversation is now a shared mission to transform how the Global South views neurodiversity, inclusion, and mental health. This is just the beginning.

WHY WE DO THIS

We create the platforms that guide the conversations that matter most.
Opening space for the difficult, necessary dialogues that shape people, organisations, and community.

THE C.A.L.M. METHOD™

Every Calm + Curious conversation follows four simple steps.

connect

[WHO NEEDS TO BE HEARD?]

Starts with people.
Listen first. Hear lived experiences. Make sure every voice has a place before any solutions
are discussed.

appreciate

[WHAT ARE WE MISSING?]

Stay curious.
Explore different perspectives, evidence and experiences. Challenge assumptions with
openness and respect.

learn

[WHAT HAVE WE DISCOVERED?]

Turn ideas into action.
Take what you’ve discovered and create practical tools, skills, and solutions people can use immediately.

move

[WHAT WILL WE DO DIFFERENTLY?]

Create lasting change.
Design environments, workplaces, and communities where everyone can thrive.
